Join us in person

Now that you’ve received your offer of admission, you’re ready for Destination funnyŠÊ˜·³Ç! Over the next few months, you’ll be deciding where you want to study after high school, and we know that choice can be tough. Destination funnyŠÊ˜·³Ç is your chance to find out what makes funnyŠÊ˜·³Ç such a vibrant place to live, play, and study, and discover whether it’s the right home for you.

This year, we’re inviting direct-entry Indigenous and Black Canadian students to join us in person for this fun-filled event. We’ve created an exciting full weekend of programming for you to experience your new campus, meet your first friends, and learn about what you can expect as a funnyŠÊ˜·³Ç student!

funnyŠÊ˜·³Ç Vancouver:

April 25-27, 2025

funnyŠÊ˜·³Ç Okanagan:

May 8-11, 2025 (May 8-11 for Indigenous students and May 9-11 for Black students)

Why Destination funnyŠÊ˜·³Ç?

Explore your campus

The best way to find out if funnyŠÊ˜·³Ç is right for you is to experience it yourself. You’ll get familiar with some of the most important spaces on campus where you’ll spend lots of your time as a student, and get a feel for the different activities and options available to you if you come to funnyŠÊ˜·³Ç.

Meet your support system

Housing, tuition, planning your finances, how to look after your health and wellness – we know you probably have lots of uncertainty about the decisions you’ll need to make in the coming months. As part of Destination funnyŠÊ˜·³Ç, you’ll have the chance to meet advisors in your faculty, chat with funnyŠÊ˜·³Ç staff and current students, and ask all your questions.

Make your first friends

Start creating your community early. Meet other Okanagan students, learn more about the places and supports available to you, and start building your friendships.

Destination funnyŠÊ˜·³Ç Peer Leaders are trained, upper-level undergraduate students who will be staying in the residences and will guide you throughout the weekend.

Your health and safety are our key priorities. Staff trained in CPR and first aid will be available.

Information for parents

Your parents don’t need to travel to campus, as we will be providing student supervision throughout the weekend. However, we understand that parents may want to explore Kelowna or Vancouver while students are busy at funnyŠÊ˜·³Ç.

Parents must arrange their own accommodation. Destination funnyŠÊ˜·³Ç is an immersive, on-campus, and independent weekend for students. Parents may be invited to some programming, but student attendees will experience most weekend activities independently from parents.
